We recommend checking for firmware updates at least once every year, or whenever a new version is announced.
You should also update your intercoms:
- When you pair units running different firmware versions
- After major connection or pairing issues
- Following a repair or factory reset
How to Update Firmware BbTalkin 3.0
Tips Before You Start
To ensure a smooth update process, prepare your devices before starting.
- Fully charge each intercom before updating
- Keep your phone and intercom within 30 cm
- Avoid using other Bluetooth devices nearby
- Update one unit at a time
- After updating, reset and re-pair your intercoms
Step 1 - Download the App
Download the BbTalkin App on your mobile phone to perform the update. App's linked below.
Step 2 - Prepare Your Device
- Open your phone’s Settings → Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is ON.
- Identify whether you are updating a Standard or Master unit before starting.
⚠️ Important: Selecting the wrong device type can permanently damage the intercom.
This type of damage is not covered under warranty.
Step 3 - Pairing for Firmware Update
1. Make sure your Standard unit is off.
2. Hold the Power button until the LED flashes purple.
3. The unit appears in your Bluetooth list — tap to connect.

- Make sure your Standard unit is off.
- Hold the Power button until the LED flashes purple.
- The unit appears in your Bluetooth list — tap to connect.
Master Unit
1. Turn on the Master unit.
2. Hold CH1 and CH3 simultaneously until the 3. LED flashes purple.
Select the device on your phone’s Bluetooth list to connect.
⚠️ Note: When using the BbTalkin App, make sure you select Master when updating a Master unit. Choosing the wrong type can cause damage (not covered by warranty).
Step 4 - Update Firmware in the App
Once your device is connected, follow these steps in the BbTalkin App:
- Open the BbTalkin App
- The app detects your unit and shows the current firmware version (e.g. Bb30-V00_13-D3FB).
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the update
- Make sure to select the correct unit type (Standard or Master).
- After updating a unit:
Close the BbTalkin App completely - Go to your phone’s Bluetooth Settings and Forget the device you just updated
Step 5 – Update Multiple Units
When you’ve finished updating one unit, repeat the same process for each remaining intercom.
- Close the Bb App completely after each update
- Forget the previously connected device in Bluetooth Settings
- Start the next update process for the next unit
⚠️ Important: After updating all devices, always reset and re-pair before using them again.
Troubleshooting Firmware Update
If the update does not complete or your phone cannot detect the device, try these steps before contacting support.
