At a Glance: Francisco Guaragna and BbTalkin
Francisco Guaragna is an Olympic sailor competing in the ILCA 7 class, recognised for his commitment to elite performance, consistency, and long-term development at the highest level of international sailing.
Olympic sailing training is one-on-one between athlete and coach. The coach sits in a chase boat, watching mark roundings, boat handling, tactical decisions, and trim. Without a communication link, feedback waits until the athlete returns to shore.
With BbTalkin, the coach calls corrections in real time: shift weight forward, ease the vang, pinch up before the next mark. Francisco Guaragna runs this setup at every training session. The BbTalkin Standard 3.0 unit sits clipped under his life vest with the headset cap worn under his hood. The full-duplex audio means he can ask a question mid-tack without slowing down or coming about.
Born in Rufino, Argentina, a small inland town far from the sea, Francisco’s journey into professional sailing is defined by ambition, discipline, and the constant pursuit of marginal gains.
What began as a passion for sailing evolved into a career built on precision, resilience, and high-performance standards, shaped by years of structured training and international competition.
Throughout his career, Francisco has represented Argentina on the world stage, competing at the highest level in the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
At this level, performance is defined by detail. Decision-making, timing, communication, and execution under pressure all play a decisive role.
In preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Francisco partnered with BbTalkin EU, integrating professional-grade wireless communication into his daily on-water training environment.
Using real-time coach–athlete communication, combined with clear audio quality and long-range reliability in open-water conditions, allowed for immediate technical corrections, faster tactical feedback, and more efficient training sessions.
ILCA7 sailors race in winds from 4 to 30 knots, often both within the same training session. The BbTalkin Standard 3.0 carries an IPX7 waterproof rating with a screw-sealed case, designed for repeated submersion in salt water without performance degradation.
The 14-hour battery covers a full day of back-to-back training sessions on a single charge via USB-C. For an Olympic-level sailor logging hundreds of hours per year, gear that fails mid-session is gear that gets replaced.
“Working with BbTalkin EU was a real step forward in my preparation for Paris 2024. Being able to receive precise feedback from my coach in real time completely changed the quality of my training. It helped me make faster adjustments on the water and maximise every session.”
Beyond the Olympic Games, Francisco has competed in World Championships, World Cups, and major international regattas, consistently racing against the best sailors in the world.
His performance approach is deeply connected to data-driven analysis, communication efficiency, and continuous refinement, values that align closely with BbTalkin EU’s role in high-performance training environments.
Francisco is currently fully focused on his third Olympic campaign toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, continuing his collaboration with BB Talkin EU as part of his high-performance setup.
BbTalkin plays a fundamental role in refining technique, improving tactical understanding, and maintaining consistent feedback throughout long training blocks.
“At the Olympic level, small improvements make a big difference. BbTalkin EU gives me confidence, clarity, and efficiency in every training session. It’s a tool I fully trust as I prepare for Los Angeles 2028.”

Year-round high-performance preparation
Training and competing year-round on the international circuit, Francisco combines elite on-water training, physical conditioning, performance analysis, and mental preparation. Through BbTalkin EU’s communication technology, each session becomes more focused and precise, turning training time into a high-quality performance opportunity.
Francisco Guaragna and BbTalkin EU share a common goal: pushing the limits of performance through reliable communication, innovation, and excellence. From Paris 2024 to the road ahead toward Los Angeles 2028, clear communication remains a core part of elite execution on the water.
After two Olympic appearances in Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, Francisco Guaragna is now in the qualification cycle for Los Angeles 2028. The training load is heavier, the data demands are higher, and the margins are thinner.
Real-time communication with the coach during every session reduces the time between feedback and adjustment, accelerating the technical refinement loop that separates Olympic medallists from finalists.
Francisco Guaragna uses two BbTalkin Standard 3.0 units in a coach-to-athlete setup. The coach operates one unit from the chase boat. Francisco wears the second unit under his life vest with a headset cap. Full-duplex audio means the coach can call tactical corrections in real time, and Francisco can ask questions mid-session without slowing down. Range covers up to 1000 metres in open water.
Francisco Guaragna races in the ILCA7 class, also known as the Laser Standard. The ILCA7 is the men's single-handed Olympic dinghy class. He competed at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games and is currently in the qualification cycle for Los Angeles 2028.
BbTalkin is used across competitive water sports including Olympic sailing, big air kiteboarding, professional surfing, and adaptive surfing. The system's IPX7 waterproof rating, full-duplex audio, and off-grid operation make it suitable for any discipline requiring real-time coach-to-athlete or athlete-to-athlete communication on the water.
